Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

  • Design and develop mechanical building services systems for construction and building projects (e.g., ACMV, plumbing, fire protection systems, vertical transportation, etc.).
  • Assist the Team Leader and Job Captain in the planning, coordination and execution of engineering works.
  • Supervise and guide subordinate staff in the preparation of drawings and technical documentation.
  • Prepare and review sketch drawings, engineering drawings and design calculations.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of all design deliverables.
  • Ensure designs comply with the Project Design Criteria, Client Brief and Approved Concept.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant engineering codes, design standards, internal office standards and the ISO Quality Procedure Manual.
  • Attend and participate in design coordination meetings, client meetings, architect meetings and site meetings.
  • Ensure works are delivered within the project programme and budget constraints.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the Team Leader or Division Manager.
  • Propose practical improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of engineering works.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7 – 10 years of relevant experience in an engineering consulting firm.
  • Experience in Clean room, Hospital, Data Center and/or LRT/ MRT project and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) system is an added advantage.
  • Able to lead projects independently and supervise junior staff.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other relevant engineering software is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of engineering standards, authority requirements and design codes.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English and Malay language.
  • Mandarin language proficiency is an added advantage as the role may require dealing with Mandarin-speaking clients.
  • Responsible, proactive and able to work independently with a positive attitude.

Other information:

  • Working location: Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur (walking distance from monorail & MRT stations)
  • Full-time (Monday to Friday)
